Pedalboard Or Spaceship?
How much is too much? Is there such a thing as too much when it comes to a pedalboard? If there is (there isn’t) then this beast is right at the line. I built this hoss on a custom 30” x 16” flat board with a Fix Pedalboards hinged bridge and the pedal selection is up there with the best I’ve sever seen. So many versatile drive options, three vastly different delays, two epic reverbs, any modulation you may need, and an even an easy to access looper. This board truly has it all!
The entire board is controlled via the always awesome RJM PBC/6x and powered by a Cioks DC7, 8, and 4 which I was conveniently able to fit under the hinged bridge for maximum space efficiency. I/Os are all handled using a Rockboard Mod 2 which allows for super convenient guitar input, IEC power through, and stereo outs.
The signal chain:
In PBC6/x
Chase Bliss Bliss Factory
Empress Compressor MKII
Electro Harmonix HOG 2
Spruce Effects The Gale
Bondi Sick As MK3
Electronic Audio Experiments Limelight v2
Horrothia Teeth
Revv G3 Distortion
Chase Bliss Blooper
Hotone Volume
GFI Synesthesia
Red Panda Raster 2
Strymon Volante
Meris Polymoon
Neunaber Illumine
Strymon Nightsky
Pigtronix Infinity Looper 2
Both expression and volume are handled by a pair of Hotone Ampero Press Volume/Exp pedals with expression being handled via midi and the PBC/6x. If I’m being honest, I’m not a fan of the Hotone logo on these but they are super space efficient and have a way better foot feel than the very popular Dunlop DVP4. If you can get past the aesthetics of them these are a great compact option.
Bonus feature for the looper: I included a two button aux for control over the octave and once/stutter effects of the looper which makes for some great fun.
I definitely spent a ton of time programming this one because I kept getting distracted by the myriad of epic sounds that were so easily had with it.
